Well we left the state park near Marion this am. We decided to stay in Springfield for a day or so. I looked to see what there was to see and this is Lincoln country. And then found out that this is the anniversary of his death and they are doing a reenactment of his funeral procession from the train to his tomb. There are many different lectures going on but I hope to get in on something. Its the first time it has ever been done since 1856. I plan to take pictures. He was one of my favorites in history so it is special to be in on this. I would love to read that big book that came out a few years ago about him that everyone was reading and I never got around to. His family home is here and etc. so will be following on about that.
You will enjoy our silly story. We took a walk about 730 last night. We couldn't get satellite TV in the site we were in and we do like our late night TV. So we decided we would move. There was no one in this section of this huge 200+ site campground. So Leroy ran back, put the side in and unplugged the elect. And down he came, as it seemed like we could get a signal there. Well we did get a signal BUT the dumb elect wasn't working. So we had to move it back to the original site and replace the sign, the elect plug in, the car and the RV and it was pretty funny. No we were not the worse for wear as we watched a video but we got a good laugh out of it. We are not happy we watch TV at all but we do limit it to an hour or two a night, which is probably still to much. We watch it more in the winter than in the nice weather as we are outside so much.
Today it is sunny and windy here. It is in the 60's probably but the wind is cold. I am still having those darn headaches so don't know if it is due to the head injury or allergies now that I am back in this area.
I finally ate today and stayed away from beef. Man that just isn't setting with me anymore. I had a tuna sandwich at Jimmy Johns and it was actually pretty good. Never eaten there before. And, it was quick.
I think I mentioned I bought some apple pie moonshine so if anyone wants to try it let me know.
Have been embroidering on a pillowcase as we drove today. I got this set partially embroidered at a thrift store. Brand new, in fact the one that hasn't been touched is really stiff with sizing. Was going to give it to my sister but haven't done a nice enough job so guess I will just use it myself. I am getting a wool applique (small) project ready to do. A store lady talked me into trying one and it did look like fun. Then I got a small quilt all laid out that I got at the QOR action a couple years ago. The squares are all done and three rows were but I couldn't figure out her pattern so I took them apart, found a nice pattern in it and have it ready to sew up. I found a PERFECT fabric in Paducah to use for the borders. I also have a small Amish wall hanging ready to sew up and I plan on hand quilting that. Can't do anything though till I get home as my machine needs a tune up, bad. I have been giving it a workout.
We applied or are applying for a workkamper job in California near Santa Barbara at a nature center. If we get that I will have a nice winter to sit and quilt and work a little. Will let you know more how that goes.
All for today, lets pray this goes thru the first time and I don't need to redo it.
