computers

I swear these things will make you crazy. i have to wait for Jeff to come home to help figure things out. Tho i am doing better than i used to. One day Jeff said, we have had a computer in the house since i was 5 years old (he will be 40 next mth) and i can not figure out why you still can't learn them. I thought about it, and decided he was right and decided i was going t learn. I am way better than i used to be and at least now i can ask pertinent questions and usually understand the answers but i would be screwed if it wasn't for him comming home occasionally.

reflections

well i am on my weekend of work (call). its one weekend (or two if you are nice or money hungry) and just the thought of it makes me tired. Its all week and the weekend. I have no idea why the thought makes me tired but it does. So off i go.

Funny thing happened this week tho. We picked up a friends dog to take him along with our three herding dogs and went to a new trustland trail near home. Well we thought the signs were confusing and not clear but we started out on one trail head blindly. And we always end up going without water or our gps or map (dud). Well we walked and walked, up and down, round and round, over logs, narrow horse trails, man it was beautiful, interesting, and a workout. The dogs loved it. Pretty soon we thought, man this little 1 1/2mile trail should be comming to an end by now but it never would turn and go the direction the car was so we continued walking. Finally when i am about to say UNCLE we come to an opening that leads to a road and gate. We go out on the road, try to get our bearings, and leroy thinks it would be safer to follow the road back since we aren't even sure where we are. We walk and walk, we go past workers in the road, we go past a house i had just been at the day before. We finally figure out where we are and we have a huge distance to go before we get back to the trail head and the car. We ended up walking about 5 miles, man was i tired. I am not ready for that yet. After we delivered our guest dog home and swung by the house and grabbed a bite to eat we had to leave for agility class. Boy we got thru class, did well, but were a slower bunch than normal. We were exhausted when we got home. I think we met our exercise quota that day. But it was a beautiful fall day to get lost.

I also had a surprise last nite. Lacey came by and i got to give her her quilt and a blanket we had found at a thrift store for her with horses on it. We had the nicest visit and we are hoping she can achieve what she is planning for. Life has a way of changing the best of intentions. But it was fun to know she still has the two other quilts i made for her (one is her baby blanket) and she took them with her when she left home. She said she just loves them. That helps the incentive to make some for people when you know they care.

All for now everyone

Return to th blog

Well, I am back. did anyone miss me? I had my left knee done so i am not limping anymore but when i see the videos i still walk goofy. I walk like a fat old lady, well i guess i am but i don't want to walk like that. I want a spritely walk.
I just came back this weekend from a canine musical freestyle competition thu the World Canine Freestyle Organization. Iris, my young collie didn't qualify but she came close . It was mostly an adventure with her to get her used to being in the ring and learn focus, both of which are things she will need for her first agility trial this month. She knows lots of moves but didn't really show them in the ring this weekend, but by sun she was 50 percent better in the ring. Trixie on the other hand is and old hand and did pretty well on sat and sun would have done better but i practiced to much outside the ring before hand so i stressed her. But even so she made the minimum qualifications and got a second on sat and a third on sun and completed her title. She has a senior beginner/novice freestle title now, which is lots of letters that i have to look up to be sure i have right.
It was a fun weekend and we also got the award for the team that had the most fun because i was happy and smiling no mater what happened and just had fun.
If you are interested you can find all the four videos on youtube and you just put in quiltedcollies in the search area and all four come up.
I am sitting her at midnight with this stupid post because i can not get to sleep. And i have a busy call week ahead. why does this happen when you just can't afford to have it happen?
To awake to go to sleep and to tired to accomplish anything.
Hope you all had a nice labor day weekend. Today it rained here but since i had catch up to play, and the dog were bone tired from their exciting weekend, and lero was busy in his studio, it was reall quite cozy.
Sat after the competition i took the dogs on a mile walk (I stayed at a motel down there to avoid early morning and driving), then i went to a workshop on freestyle held at the hotel and then i was so tired i went to taco bell at the end of the block, fed the dogs and we all curled up and watched Legally Blonde, and Legally Blond 2. Stupid movies but it was a nice cozy time for the three of us. it was our girls weekend out. ha ha
