reflections

well i am on my weekend of work (call). its one weekend (or two if you are nice or money hungry) and just the thought of it makes me tired. Its all week and the weekend. I have no idea why the thought makes me tired but it does. So off i go.

Funny thing happened this week tho. We picked up a friends dog to take him along with our three herding dogs and went to a new trustland trail near home. Well we thought the signs were confusing and not clear but we started out on one trail head blindly. And we always end up going without water or our gps or map (dud). Well we walked and walked, up and down, round and round, over logs, narrow horse trails, man it was beautiful, interesting, and a workout. The dogs loved it. Pretty soon we thought, man this little 1 1/2mile trail should be comming to an end by now but it never would turn and go the direction the car was so we continued walking. Finally when i am about to say UNCLE we come to an opening that leads to a road and gate. We go out on the road, try to get our bearings, and leroy thinks it would be safer to follow the road back since we aren't even sure where we are. We walk and walk, we go past workers in the road, we go past a house i had just been at the day before. We finally figure out where we are and we have a huge distance to go before we get back to the trail head and the car. We ended up walking about 5 miles, man was i tired. I am not ready for that yet. After we delivered our guest dog home and swung by the house and grabbed a bite to eat we had to leave for agility class. Boy we got thru class, did well, but were a slower bunch than normal. We were exhausted when we got home. I think we met our exercise quota that day. But it was a beautiful fall day to get lost.

I also had a surprise last nite. Lacey came by and i got to give her her quilt and a blanket we had found at a thrift store for her with horses on it. We had the nicest visit and we are hoping she can achieve what she is planning for. Life has a way of changing the best of intentions. But it was fun to know she still has the two other quilts i made for her (one is her baby blanket) and she took them with her when she left home. She said she just loves them. That helps the incentive to make some for people when you know they care.

All for now everyone
