Well here it is New Years. I have been sewing most of the day. Working on a small quilt for the newest member of the Sindelar family. Shirley's great grandson and his wife have adopted a child from China. They finally got him and returned home Christmas eve. It is a great thing for those two kids who have been unable to have their own. What wonderful parents they will be. So have been working on that the last few days. Had some material I brought along and didn't know quite what to do with it so it worked out to be perfect. Have most of the blocks made and then will have to get some backing and put it together.
We have terrible weather here for the last few days interspersed between the holidays with some actually nice weather. Or weather I like anyhow. It has been raining and windy and the last two or three nites it has been freezing. The dogs and I almost landed on our cans going out this am. Those steps are a bitch when they are covered with ice.
Leroy has been on a marathon football watching thru the holidays. I have finally learned to block it out so it doesn't seem to bother me.
The stuff for our new job should come Fri. Then Mon we should move north a bit to the county we are assigned and hopefully by Tues I can start selling. That is providing the weather is improved.
We haven't done much. I guess we went to a movie Xmas day. We went to the latest Nite at the Museum. Robin Williams last performance. It was actually as funny as the first I found.
Before the movie we needed to eat and found an Albertsons that had the greatest deli. It is my new favorite store.
Many of the people in this park are workers. Not sure where they work, but many do. Many are probably here year long. It isn't the greatest park, like a resort park, but it is pretty clean, the washers and dryers are only a buck, and they have lots of dog parks scattered around. They have a building that they said I could use if I needed to work on a quilt. So it could be lots worse. I don't pay much attention to it and they don't bother me unless they are really really bad. But usually I can find some things I like and meet people I like.
Not nuts about the weather this year but hey, its weather. We can't control it and it will happen weather or not so we might as well be flexible with it. I guess I am not that fragile I can't handle a little cold weather. In fact, I don't mind cold, my most not favorite element is wind. Not a big fan of wind.
I said this blog would become boring this year. Not much to write about now.
Plan on going to a big dog show this weekend. We could enter at the last minute but not sure we will, tho we have been practicing. I am waiting to find some agility trials to go to.
Leroy got me a camera for Xmas. Not something we could afford nor did I NEED it, but it was one I have been looking at. Its a Sony and has interchangeable lenses and is extremely light weight. I love it tho have had very little practice with it. Leroy is taking a photography class online from Ricky Tims. Its a year long class and he is getting excited for it to start. He has really gotten into Photography as a hobby. I just like taking pictures and seeing how I can use it to complement my other hobbies of quilting and drawing/painting, and use it as a reference and training aid with my dog training. I don't really need another hobby.
One day was really nice and we went to Weatherford and found a nice park and trail to walk the dogs on. That was a nice afternoon.
Nothing terribly exciting or funny going on here, tho the dogs and birds and cat usually keep us laughing. Seems they do the funniest things. How does one live without animals in your life.
