A day can change

Well my beautiful day stayed beauttiful but I had a pain crisis in the afternoon with my left leg.  I tried to keep my mind busy with games and reading but no luck.  Nothing worked. So we went for a pomegranate smoothie and a drive And one last walk and now to make the bed and get in it with a pain pill and hope that tomorrow it is improved.

Beautiful day

Slept too late.   Took a leisurley shower, made coffee and took that and my muffin out to the picnic table to enjoy it. No walk to the coffee store today.   Don't knew what the temperature is but it is perfect by my standards.  Sun is shining, slight breeze.  I have to say summer in the nw is incredible a lot of the time.  Don't like the tool cool evenings tho.  The park is waking up, campersare stiring the couple behind us is already in the sun reading.  My little family next door has left for the little girls audition.  I am surei will knowe the results as soon as they gt back.  They put all the money the little girl wins into an account for college.  Not so dumb huh?  Campground filled up thurs while I was gone
Just had another camper come over for a stick of butter.  Needed it for pancakes and forgot to pack it. We know that trick.  Made BLTs last nite and Leroy had to go get the t because we forgot to buy that.
Seagulls are already screaming.  I fed them left over grapes last nite.
It's  a private area campground, it's pretty open but there is privacy on the weekends but nice to have company on the weekends.  People are respectful of your space and time.  The dogs invite comments from the kids walking thru and the kids going thru love my purple hair, even the transients.
I have to say I am enjoying myself so far and do not miss the farm, tho one always has twinges. I feel very blessed to have what I need and more.  We take so much for granted and look what you can live without.  We have another truck load of stuff we took out of the camper to put back in storage.  The simpler life is, the more we apreciate what we have and I think we aren't even very simple in this rig. It's so lavish I oft feel embarrassed.
I hope anyone reading this is having a wonderful day.  I plan on grooming dogs, and cats and training birds today, and maybe sewing.

More exciting news

Today was a really great day. I walked down to get coffee and Leroy and the dogs went with.  We sat at Starbucks and ate our muffin and drank our coffee, just like those other people.  Then I decided to sort food and try nd cut our weight by getting rid of some and getting more organized.

More catch up

Lets see, I had to cut the above short as we were getting on the ferry.  We combined md appts and errands today and spent the day together and had a late lunch also.  It was nice getting together.  We always have lots laughs.
Staying in Oak Harbor for this time we do like being near a small town that has what you need so you can easily run into town and it doesn't take all day.  So that's a realization we found out.  We used to live in a real small town and being able to walk every where was nice.
This is just a time for us to figure out what we really want in the last phase of our lives.

We have neighbors here at the camp that are pretty interesting,  the young couple next door are moving here from Wyoming.  She is a widow with two kids and a boyfriend.  They are nice kids, but simple and  naive.   Is don't think they have much money and they pulled a trailer out here.  Then they take their  boxes  out of the camper and pile them in the truck.  They have no tarp so when they are gone and it starts to rain, there are Leroy and I out there putting one of our old tarps over their stuff and battening it down,  she is on disability with major back surgeries(which she says is better now) and needs to see a doc cause they think her cancer is back.  Oh yeah, her husband was hit by a trucker that was texting.  The boy has a boot on as he has had numerous surgeries on his feet and still needs more cause he still won't walk correctly so he hobbles around (I think he is 12).  The little girl is a beauty queen and tells me she was in 21 natural talent shows and she has 21 titles.  Mom says they stopped when dad died but hope  to start again.  Then their truck gives up the ghost.  They say they will have to live in the trailer till their house sells in wyo.  she plans on going to school in Seattle for mortuary science.  He says he doesn't know much about her school cause the whole thing creeps him out.  The kids are always offering to walk the dogs to help us cause we helped them.
They are quite the family and if even half of it is true its a bit much for one family to deal with don't you think?
Have had lots of Canadians here this last week. And some homeless staying in tents, and possibly some drug deals going on, who knows. It's interesting!
It's about time for me to pull out the sew machine and see how this quilting on the road is going to
work.

Problems

Sitting here in the ferry line with Donna Taylor on a rainy afternoon and decided that I would probably  add to this blog since it has been a few days.  Of course I had problems getting on but I outsmarted the machine, yeah,   Technology 0.   Diana. 1.
We have been up to city beach since the last post.  We have been busy trying to clean up stuff and fine tune details , pay bills which meant finding all the paperwork that had been shoved here and there, get appts, and etc.  well I think we found all the paperwork and have most of the bills paid. Things are falling into place.   Appts are set up, not done yet.   We found a small car to tow, that was a big job.  Man there are lots of cars out there.    We found a 2002 Kia Sportage that is in good shape, has a fair number of miles but fairly new rubber, just a few tiny dents in it and a fairly good interior condition.  Goldish tan. Just what we need for towing.  I think it will work fine.   The suburban will stay at Joyce's and Donna will take care of the vibe.   I had to get new tires in front  on the vibe, I cleaned it out and I have it set up to get an oil change lube and tuneup tomorrow.  Then it is safe to leave for her to use if she needs.  We still need to get eye appts and time to go get each of us some shoes.
But I have to say I have also been having fun.  It's a wierd feeling to think, what shall I do?  I never felt really like I had a choice.  So I have sat outside in the sunshine and watched dog training videos, rode my bike on the trails,v trained my dogs, walked the trails, walked to get morning coffee, did some sightseeing of new business just cause, really starting to enjoy my time.
We had a graduation of a friends daughter and our little employee for three years, and of  Bonnie Klamm (Lacey's sister). That was the best graduation I have ever gone to. The speeches were short, to the point, funny and interesting.  Other than pain at the end and I was uncomfortable, it was really a nice graduation. So the girls are now graduated and off lot the new world.  Bonnie is going to school to be a reach pharmacist and Alysa is taking a year off before going to school.
My friend with MS walks everyday in OH and she goes by the camp so she starte stopping every day for a short visit.  That's been fun.  She's a friend thru agility but she also quilts so we have lots of fun conversations.  She is such an inspiration to both of us, she just never gives up or complains and she loves to laugh and she is teaching me sign language one phrase at a time.  It is all I can comprehend, at least at one time.  My latest "was have a nice day".
Leroy is rearranging the basements in the RV and we are trying to get some weight off as we are over(but I am not dumping fabric).  Think I will go with food. Ha ha.  We know where my priorities lie don't we?  I have lost some weight, so maybe that's why,   Leroy has lost almost 30 lbs and is looking better .
All for now.
