On the island again

Well we actually had a good nite sleep last nite at the Walmart parking lot. Leroy needed it.  He was stressed and tired.  He is still worn out today so I sent him to be early but I did let him have supper, ha ha.  We finally found a camp spot this am at the city park in oak harbor.  Then after I loaded up the car to go to the laundromat we decided to go to anacortes to shipwreck days.  We got up there late and missed a lot but we got some great fishing nets.  Want to use one in the bedroom here for a storage solution and Leroy wanted another one to use in his trailer to secure loads.  Nice nets at a very reasonable price.   We stopped by hobby house where Donna and a group were having a sit and sew day.  Held a new baby, had a few snacks, visited, and then left.   We went to the anacortes drive in for a meal before we came home.  Man was the food good.  I was stuffed when we finished and came home.  We came home tired.  The dogs were too cause they went to.  I had diesel on my back in a pack and I kept forgetting and bending over and the poor dog kept going on his head.  Poor pup.  I did go to the two fabric stores and picked up a couple of things I needed. So I cleaned up the house when we got home, walked the dogs and now just catching up on a few things.  Man it got cold out here towards late afternoon.  The wind came up, doesn't feel like July tonight that's for sure.
So tomorrow we plan on going to church and then I HAVE to wash clothes.  We will be in o.h. Probably thru this week.  Then we may go to the coast for a couple of weeks.
So nothing to exciting here today, kinda boring really.

Continued fri post

I had to post it before I could go any further and I couldnt see it all to edit it.  To begin with it was the wood fire gril.  The it was cocoa in my lap. Please if anyone is reading this forgive the errors, hope you can figure it out.  Its1am and I am up because of pain.  I also can't see for crap anymore and I am laying down as I do this.  All good and honest excuses but I should be proof reading before I get so far that I need to post or it runs off the page and I can't see it.  Probably there is a way around that but I am a slow learning technical person and only lately able to do as much as I have been doing.    I have to say my latest strides have come due to the great help and teaching by my son  Jeff. He is a great teacher, knows how people learn and let's me absorb something before he gives me more. Always answers questions so you can understand him, and doesn't leave you hanging.  He stays it wih it till you  have understood what he said.
Back to my story.  While I spent two days running errands Leroy was entertaining and taking pictures of flat Maysen. Remember me telling about Maysens school project?  Then he went to camping world to see about fixing our little defrugalty and the little stuff that isn't working. Didn't get much done with that as their computers and phones were all down. So we will know more on mon or tues.  in the meantime he looked for some place to stay.   Full, full, full were all the words he heard and bwala, we are now spending the nite at walmart in oak harbor.  Tomorrow we will go from here, where to we don't know.  Maybe around all day and back here tomorrow nite. Oh well, we are healthy, happy and together, who cares in what setting.
I guess while we were getting thru all this poor Jeff was going thru dental work, for an abscesed tooth.  He hasn't been to the dentist in probably 10-20 years.  As all young people learn when on their own, when they do go there is lots of work to be done.  We all learn it is easier to just keep it up and not go thru this.  So he is learning a painful lesson I am afraid.
What will tomorrow bring, who knows?  I think it is time to post some pictures.
Don't know exactly where I left off.  We stayed at the tulalip casino wed nite.  Thurs I left with the car  and went to my pain md appt in green lake. That was a good appt.  my fibro test showed improvement which means that part of the program is working.  She adjusted meds again and worked out a plan for me to get my pain pills while we are on the road.  She is a scarey doc. Tho she is sweet and gentle and caring at the same time.  She is quite well known in her field it seems and garners lots of respect.  She is just firm, to the point, and very professional but has a very soft spot for dogs, so I know she is ok.  We get along fine and have mutual respect.  That is a tough field for a doc as they have lots of rules to follow and can have some very difficult and manipulative patients.  So I am very grateful and feel blessed that she is willing to work with me.  She set me up with.a new pharmacy in Edmonds who I went over and met to establish a relationship and see if he would work with us.   He is familiar with dr. Jutla so we had a nice visit, outlined the plan and he filled my meds for cheaper than Costco.  He is willing to look at my other mail order meds and see if he can match those prices as well.  Small pharmacy with a feel of the ones long ago before everything became a chain.
After all that I went and ran errands.   I picked up the sew machine feet I had ordered forever ago.   I checked out many stores till I found the light box I was looking for at Hobby Lobby and then got a 40% discount I wasn't even planning on.  So tho it was hot and busy it was a really nice day with things all going well for me.   After that I came back to the island and went and crashed on Joyce's couch.  She is so good and so open and willing to do for others.  She didn't even feel good but still had no qualms about me coming to stay on her couch.  I always said we would make good roommates if ever needed cause we both go our own way, talk when we need to and live our own lives in similar ways but not bugging the other one.  It's a comfortable feeling.  I have two comfortable friends like hat.  Donna and Joyce.  I am a very blessed individual,  Joyce and I went for pizza at the wood feed girl as her dau was working and it was just us.  Then we vegetated on the couch,  I got cocoa in my Lao,  that is her oldest dachund dog.  I do love cocoa and I think she loves me.  When Joyce headed for bed she mad cocoa go.  Soon she can back out and asked if  cocoa could sleep with me as she jut whined and wanted to come out and see me.  She curled up with me and we had a nites sleep together.  She still insisted in the am in coming back to bed with me wafted she was fed.  We snuggled and played and cuddled and talked.  I guess when I left that am she cried for me.  Well she did look pretty sad when I left. She is such a decry.   Ginger the other one is younger and cute as a button and jealous like lots of little kids and she is my friend to, but cocoa and I have a special relationship.  So that brightened my day. Today I sent the whole day running errands.  I met Donna for breakfast, went to Langley, then Clinton and then worked me wa up the island doing errands.  Got my library books back and No Fine, cool huh. I picked up my biie guard that was made for me.  Man they get more sturdy, thicker , and tighter every time I get another one.  Pretty soon they will be indestructible and immune to dogs that want to chew them up.  I got a trim on my hair.  Dear  Shawn, there is no one in the earth like him, he is a master with color and shears.  He has the patience of Job.
He puts up with me like no one else would I am sure. And he doesn't charge anything for a touch up trim of bangs or whatever if it takes less than 15 minutes.  So my day with things going smoothly and running into great positive people that better the world just kept going.  I had a nice long visit with deb jones realtor and friend extroidinare and the fact she sells Mary Kay is just even better.  She has a sene of humor that is so great you just don't want to stop talking to her.  She is a delight to listen to.
Oh yes, I ran into Rosie and Roland T th restaurant and I got to hug the two people in my life I cherish and wish I had established a relational ship ith sooner.  They assured me that my little duck Lucy was doing fine and I sounds like she is living the duck life of Reilly.  I am so happy she has such a good home N is happy, she was the best duck pet ever.  I am so glad she went to live with them and kakci Campbell ! The one eyed duck renamed Duck.(she was Lucy also ao they changed her name). They always have a mail for you, needful words, a good laugh or two and wisdom to share.  It was so nice having lunch and a short shopping spree with Donna.  We always find something to laugh about and share.  She is a good friend iand meets all those requirements you read on cards and signs about what a good friend is.  She is all of them.  Thurs in Everett I started looking at keyboards.  Starting to miss my piano even tho I am a lousy player. Found a nice Yamaha at kenelly  keys.  Today I looked at joes music so they said to. One and check it out.  Well for the same ririce it couldn't
T hold a candle to the Yamaha.  The Yamaha is like playing. Dal piano.
I also got our eye appts mad for thurs and I picked out a pair of glasses e en so I am all ready and Leroy doesn't
T have to suffer thru that.  He just figures pick a pair and get on with it.

g

well we finished out our day yest. by driving to Rochester and finally finding a place to mail the bills (yes storage lady the check IS IN THE MAIL.  then we went to a friends house in Rochester for supper.  nice pm.  Got to the campground about 830-900.  Terrible children there who were playing in the streets on their bikes, taking dangerous chances, hanging on to my bumper and etc and no parent said a word..
So the dogs and I took a walk thru the tent campground and it got dark and then really dark and i was so turned around i couldn't find the right way to get back to our camper, finanlly we made it.  soon oft to bed to watch the the vicker of dibley.    Long day but i slept last nite and till 10 this am.

Must tell you about Sidney.  Don't think i did.  He decided to lay on this little table, 3x4 fr.  I sat back there with him for a while and soon i sawe he was peeking down into the cars.  A real peeping tom.  Then he had to see a trucker and his load went around us. and when nothing else was to watch he watched the grass and trees go by.  I decided we have a true PEEPING TOM

down the road

we are on our way down the road back to Puget sound.  it has been eventful so far. ha ha. We start out and decide not to stay at ainsworth st pk in Oregon as the hiking was to hard for me.  i tried to get up to the gorge trail this am but it was straight up and after a terrible nite i could not do it, tho i tried as best i could.  Iris tried to pull me up but steep accents are not for me as i have a hard time breathing so we gave that idea up.  We decide to move to maybe millersylvania again so we start down the road.  The hwy was very narrow because it was an alternate hwy route and the dumb road is a tourist road.  For some reason the steps didn't retract at one stop and they got caught on the side of the road and bent and then would not go in.  Yippee.  So Leroy has to stop in the road (wrong side at a pullout) with flashers on and try and get the step in as best he could.  OK, back on the road.  Never did get the steps all the way in.  This one is not our fault!  We go down the road and i mistakenly mention when i see the battle ground sign that they have a quilt store.  Well anyone who knows Leroy knows that means lets go.  so he takes off the road to this town and quilt store.  Well i am a terrible navigator and can't understand the directions on my phone.  So we pull off in a parking lot to figure it out.  Well, the lady (i won't use an adjective) from the storage unit calls and tells me i haven't paid the rent and her bookkeeping is totally different than mine.  So i sit in this lot pulling out my papers trying to justify myself.  Evidently my addition was wrong but so was hers, so i just wrote the damn check.  Of course i have to find a place to mail it. Today she says!!!!!!!  So then i am all stirred up and upset. After i calm  down some Leroy says we are finding that damn store so he looks it up on his phone or GPS.  We set out and after a few wrong turns i ask him if this is a personal thing now and he firmly says YES.  I shut up.  Then he goes down this narrow residential road and finally at the last moment there is a sign that says its the quilt store.  Out in the middle of now where and in a building behind the house with no way to go in at the last minute  so we sail on by.  Then we have to get on the right hwy and of course screw up that exit and finally get headed in the right direction.  Its only 230 in the aft.  What will the rest of the day be like.   ha ha.   When you own a house you have problems too, probably different but problems come every day for everyone no matter what.  I have decided God doesn't put the problems there for us, the devil or the universe or what ever you believe does.  God gives us the ability to handle them.  So its not the problem but the way we handle them that is important.  We are learning great lessons on the beginning of this adventure.
Oh yeah, when we were parked in that lot a stupid Mexican (using adjectives there) came in front of the RV and did this aggressive gesture towards  diesel (sitting on the dash) and of course that got him all stirred up, which was understandable.  I could have wrung that dopes neck.  ASS

Long day

We drove the most today we have, and let me tell you we don't go very far in a day.  We stopped a couple times so i could walk, and we stopped to get gas and since we don't have many groceries on board we stopped for a meal., then drove further than we planned as we wanted to get to this campsite.  We are at Ainsworth State Park on the oregon side of the columbia river.  I can tell we are back out of the mts as its hot and humid here and in sisters it was 90 and felt like 70.  Camped next to a young couple with 3 dogs and 2 kids, sounds awful but they are very nice young kids.  We parted ways in sisters with my new quilt friend and she gave me some zuccini from her garden.  She has 8 acres and she calls it a comnity garden, she plants it, does all the work and the comunity eats it.  I gave her some quilt magazines i had finished, so it was a nice exchange. i love the people we meet when we travel, since i talk to everyone, makes no difference if they like me or not or think i am crazy or not, but its amazing you meet lots who are just like you.  You see and briefly cross paths with many people, many who renew your faith in human nature.  Lovely totally patient sales clerks, the guy who was parked in a long spot reserved for big units and smiled and moved his car so we had a place to park, people that offer help and step up, it just always amazes me.  Its not like the trip to africa that ramona is on now but fulfilling just the same.
Sidney has been hanging around up here in the front while we drove today.  Sleeping between us and going from one to other and waving and asking to be pet. He certainly is handling this well.  Carrie just sleeps on the bed all the time.
Iris is finally blowing her coat so we have to brush her out a couple times a day, imagine that gets hot and itchy, i know she has been itching a lot lately.
The dogs are surely enjoying these sniff walks all over and the run outs we do when we have a place.  They are tired and relaxed by time to settle in.

Sisters

This one again should be before the last one, i save them and then forget and can't figure out how to get the draft, so please forgive, i will get better.

Well another day. We came back to Sisters this am.  Leroy had another little touch with a tree when we were getting settled and he feels so bad but it was an honest mistake so it was what it was.  So we got settled and i went walking into town and did a little more browsing with the quilt exhibits that were still up.
Then after 8000+ steps i came home.  then i went thru a little pain crisis and after that passed we took the dogs down to the river and played fetch in the river.
I met a great  lady next door today.  She showed me all the material she bought and we chatted for a long time.  Lots of similarities in our lives and our quilting lives so it was really fun.  Back in Bend i met a lady who was next door and she was a traveling nurse.  That was some fun conversations too.
Had to take maysen down to the river and to the quilts and show him around sisters some too,.
All for tonight.
