10/9/14 Thurs

Well we went the north route and are here ready to check out the badlands.  If you have never gotten here they are just as pretty or maybe more than the South Dakota badlands. They were the spot that Teddy Rosevelt found and made him start the national park system.  He ranched out here for a while.
All this beautiful land we have saved for us to look at in this country is thanks to him.  It is a shame that the park system is not getting funding as it deserves it.  People travel all over the world and yet have never seen many of the beautiful things we have here in the lower 48. We have history and we have beauty, you just have to travel and look in the right places to see it.  If I would have any political bandwagon (I am not a political person) would be for the government to save more land, and preserve what we have here, and continue to support what we already have.  We have species here in our own country that need saving, that need appreciating and that need support.  Wild horses for one. Even if you aren't a bird watcher you should try to see some of these species that are here.  The United States is a beautiful and awesome place and we often forget it when we get wrapped up in the daily news of the world and big cities. We need as a population to stop, look, and appreciate what we do have.  People from those countries that every one goes to visit come HERE for their vacations.  I wonder why, maybe we have more in our backyard than we realize.  Check it out folks.
