Been interesting here. Leroy got in here wed nite late. They got the truck unloaded and he made it home. He was exhausted. Then Thurs we took the truck back into Denton and turned it in. We then ran some errands and came home. He has slept most of the weekend. He was tired and he came home sick. He had a bad sinus infection/cold and he was miserable. He gets sick when he has pushed himself so far and doesn't get enough sleep. He lives his life with little deadlines. He does great when he has a deadline but he procrastinates till the last minute and then pushes himself to the limit to meet his deadline. And of course always gets sick. The best medicine at that time for him is to sleep unbothered round the clock for a few days and then he comes out of it. It takes him a while to get back up to his speed (slow) but after a few days he's back to normal. Today he sounds better and has been almost normal so I think the worst is over. He still has a cough from the drainage but that will last a few days I bet.
Right after he got home we had a bear of an ice storm here sun. (good time to be sick). Couldn't see out the windows as they were coated with ice. Roads are like ice as we also got some smidgen of snow and the snow is like ice. You literally can't walk out there. While he was sick I was going in and out and let me tell you those steps are treacherous especially when you can't put your feet on the ground and be stable as you get out. The dogs hated it and today Iris just wasn't sure she wanted to try getting in. She stood there for a long time trying to get the courage to attempt it. This is a different ice storm than I have been used to and its bad. Just as bad as black ice in Washington and worse than snow packed roads in Mn. Its snow with a covering of ice that is so slippery you litterly can slide on it.
Iris is on her new med. Its one that can be a problem for collies so I am watching her closely. He put her on a really small dose. She has been doing OK since she went on it sat am but today she is so restless. She can't seem to be comfortable where ever she is. Shes been out about three times but she was in the window trying to sleep in diesels bed (that was a kick) and from cage to cage and bed to couch and floor. Poor pup, I called the vet and he doesn't seem to think its from the meds and wonders if she is just got cabin fever. Probably, I sure do. I want to be outside and active too.
Anyhow, today my coffee pot plugged again so since Leroy is home I decided to take it apart. I can take things apart but have trouble putting them back together. We tore that sucker down to every screw and opening we could find. A hose was plugged we found. So after we cleaned it out we put it back together. We had lost one screw in it and not sure we got it out but it quit rattling so we quit worrying about it. So we only had 2 screws left over and its back together and working so I consider it a success. Guess it didn't need the two screws that bad. I am so glad. I love my little coffee pot and it saves me money and I couldn't see buying a new one if I didn't have to.
I have spent my time getting caught up on some home studies I had and cleaning and washing clothes and sewing. Finished my last two superior classes and now will do some other small projects I have ready to do. I made up a lot of little projects into kits before I moved so I have them to work on. Have done a number of them and they go well. I have some big projects to do also but can work on them in small parts and then put them together when I have a place, like I did with the last one.
Yest when I was feeding the dogs, it was late am. Everyone was sleeping so I just did computer work and let them all sleep. So the birds hadn't been uncovered and as I bent over to get the dog food the next thing I knew I had a bird sitting on my shoulder. Little Sam had worked the one door up and it was wedged and he crawled out and under the cover and came to tell me it was time to eat, he was tired of waiting for brkfst. I laughed so hard. So I uncovered them both and fed them. He just jumped in his cage and had his breakfast. So funny. Birds are hilarious, they really add something special to your home. We get lots of laughs out of them.
Think that is all the news from here for the last week. Guess we will try and go out for an early supper tonight just to get out. Ha ha.
