4/17 thurs

We spent the best 5 days with my cousin.   I totally enjoyed every minute.  I got to spend time with her alone.  The other cousins whom she is closer in ages with always get her and they are pretty close. So we really had fun, and got to  know each other so much better. Anyhow I was in heaven and  am sure I talked and sang to much as I was so at home.   We got to spend a couple of days with one of her darling grand sons and Leroy got to go to another ones ballgame so family time was enjoyable.   We took a drive into the fancy areas and a little down the coast, and ate at a place called neptunes net.  Fresh fish.  So much better than frozen like I usually have had.   Anyhow, that was a great day.  Then one day we went to the Reagan library.  I didn't know what to expect but was it great.   They had a baseball exhibit going on also that I loved plus it had quilts in it.  It had Air Force one, and a restaurant and such a beautiful setting.  It was really historical and interesting, not stuffy like I thought it would be.  Donna and I also got to go to a quilt store and were there a long time.  It was great.  We walked and gaulked on Colorado blvd while Donna went to her doc.  That was fun.   It was just some great days.  We sat outside and watched the eclipse together, I thought that was neat sharing something.  It was great.  We tried to wash the dogs but couldn't find a place so we washed them in their driveway while they sat and drank wine and watched.  Guess we are quite the entertainment, ha ha.
Tues we set out on our own.  We stayed at a cmpgrd at el capitan  for two nites.  Didn't do much there.   Then thurs nite we stayed at pismo  beach at a campground for one nite but even tho it was on the beach and we had a nice walk it was packed and because of spring break it was crawling with kids that parents don't manage.  It was a nitemare.  Took 30 min to leave the park, can you believe that.  We were sure we were going to run over some kid!
Then fri, tonight and tomorrow we are at a cmpgrd in Paso Robles.  We got one nite free by staying two nites.  That plus the two discounts we got saved us a bundle.  The campgrds in calif are expensive and not RV friendly.  If we could do better dry camping we could save more but till we get something changed after we get home guess it's hookups for us.
Let's see, funny stuff and observations.
We love this wine country inland off the coast.  It looks just like the mural on our RV.  I have already said we are addicted to warm weather.  The traffic in LA isn't any worse than Seattle.  But I learned they go zoom and stop, then zoom and stop, man that makes you car sick.
Yest I had the birds out for their flight work.  Well one at a time.  Ella was going about her business.  She won't go in till she is ready.  The dogs were eating.  We both were sitting there and her diesel growling and barking.  We both thought he was growling at sallee who was walking around as she was done eating and if he thinks any one is near his food he gets pissy.  We both looked over to see Ella in his crate doorway almost on his dish just looking but he was so upset.  He was biting at her but he was holding back(he could have had her if he wanted to) and she was not smart enough to back off.  We darn near died laughing.  Then we get her out and she goes on the floor to see Iris.  Then I grabbed her and she tried to go over to the chair to see Sidney.  I swear she was out to commit suicide. We laughed about that for the rest of the evening.
We ate dinner tonight at a little Mexican joint.  That was another laugh.  There was a little boy there with a large extended family, he never shut up and he spoke in Spanish a mile a minute.  Man was it quiet when he left. Cute little devil.
This RV resort, (most of them are called resorts now, they have pools and etc) not as nice as state, federal, forest campgrounds but you do what you have to, especially if it is your home too.   Anyhow, this one has the nicest dog park anyone has had.  Beautiful thick grass and huge!
Tomorrow I hope to get pictures on here and up to date.   If wineries are open we may try to hit a couple and if we can find a church we will go to church.  Otherwise we will take it easy.
Oh I forgot, we went to Hearst Castle today.  What an extravagance, unbelievable, but the view at the top of that mountain is truly incredible. I always wanted to go there.
All for today!
