Monday 1/5

Well here I am.  Well, almost.  I will have a residual cough for weeks, no big deal.  Leroy still sounds funny but he is almost well too.  I like his voice when he is sick, its deeeeper.
Today it was 28 when we got up, damn that's cold for down here.  But I know it will be warmer by afternoon.  Yest it started out in the 40's and windy but it was a great day for a walk by the time i got out there.
Since we have to stay another week and we didn't have specific plans we spent Sat going to thrift stores one of the ladies here told me about.  Man, great stuff.  I wandered up and down and just pulled out things that caught my eye.  Color and pattern everywhere.  Most of course was too small or too big, but if i had taken more time i could have found stuff. Found a great leather jacket with some gold studs but they wanted to much.   I did however find two pair of jeans.  Jeans that FIT, the crotch is where it is supposed to be, the waist is where it is supposed to be and guess what  SIZE 16, yeah!  That's about two sizes smaller than my last bunch of thrift store jeans Donna and Shannon.  And they look Gooood.    No stupid thigh bulges.  Walking is working.  Tho the pounds aren't lots less, they have stabilized at about 20lbs down but maybe by the time i get back you will actually see a difference.  And I got the cutest little jeans jacket that is soooo cute.
Then Leroy let me help him organize his office stuff and his corner and it is soo much better.  Then after he /we got done with his I worked on mine and then i dug out my sew machine and set it up. So far I am just playing with the machine but hopefully I will get something of substance done.  Problem is that it is a big deal or rather time consuming to set it up, organize my space that unless I have a few days I don't want to do it, so i spend my time on hand stuff.  Completed a felt project the other day.  Leroy watched football most of yest so in this small setting I have learned to mainly block it out (its not my favorite sport) but am picking up little by little.  What I rather he watch is NASCAR but the season is not on now. Baseball is OK, that I understand as I used to play that as a kid (not softball, our school only had hardball equipment) and thank God he doesn't like basketball.  That on TV is boooring.  Golf is to b ut its better than basketball.  Horse racing is my favorite.  Not to much of it on tv tho, cept for the three big races each year.
We also found the best best Mexican bakery.  We love Mexican bakeries.  They make crispies (my absolute favorite sweet).  there is one in greys harbor we like and we find them occasionally, but this one is huge and makes everything.  They make a great Russian tea cake, melts in your mouth.  That is not going to help my diet, will have to walk even further than i do now which is about 5 miles/day.
As I look out I see a beautiful cardinal.  OMG they are so beautiful.  I miss them so much.
Well, for those of you that know my family but aren't family.  Say a few prayers.  My sister has back problems and is having pain.  My niece had her stomach stapling reversed to see if they can save her life and get her healthy again, (she has had nothing but terrible problems poor girl) and my nephew was in a car accident and they don't know if he will ever walk again.  Lets pray 2014 brings health and healing to all three of them.
So that's it from sunny warm San Antonio, ha ha.
